How to Measure for Twist Fit Roman Blinds

TwistFit Roman Blinds are designed to fit within your window recess using a spring-loaded, tensioned headrail, this means you must only provide a recess measurement. Due to the fitting mechanism, the method used to measure for twist and fit blinds is different from that used for standard roman blinds.

Measuring the Recess for TwistFit Roman Blinds

TwistFit roman blinds are held in place by a spring-loaded headrail which is fitted at the top of the window recess. We recommend taking your recess measurements exactly where the blinds will be installed, using the following method.

 

 

1. Measure the width by taking measurements across the window recess at the exact point you plan on fitting the blind.

2. Measure the drop of the window by taking three measurements down the length of the window recess. From top to bottom, measure the drop at the left, centre, and the right.

3. Note down the shortest measurement and use when ordering to ensure your blind fits snugly within the recess.

4. Enter your measurements on your chosen TwistFit product and select “recess” fit.

Is your Window Recess Partially Tiled?

Generally, partially tiled recesses are not compatible with TwistFit blinds, however this will depend on how far your tiles protrude. You can call our customer support team for assistance in the case your window recess is tiled.

Things to Note:

When measuring the recess for TwistFit roman blinds, we recommend taking your recess measurements exactly where the blinds will be installed. Rather than measuring the width in 3 different places like we suggest for our standard roman blinds, take your width measurement from the top of the recess to ensure they fit tightly.

For recess measuring, do not make any deductions yourself, we will make all required adjustments to ensure your blind fits perfectly.

TwistFit Roman Blinds are not suitable for walls with unsupported plasterboard. The walls of your recess must be solid and stable.

If your recess width varies by more than 10mm from top to bottom, we don’t recommend a recess fit blind like TwistFit as it could result in increased light gaps and hinder smooth operation of the blind.
